Workshop 2 on March 3 ::  Relief Printing (with found objects and foam)
1:00-4:00
$55/ workshop (There is a materials list for both workshops)
Held at my home studio
The Freezer Paper Stenciling workshop offers inspiration, technique, and practice at printing simple, beautiful images onto fabric.  I supply each participant with muslin squares for printing. You’ll leave the Relief Printing workshop with your own relief blocks, hand printed muslin squares, and hand printed note cards. You're welcome to bring your own t-shirts, fabric, and stationary to class, and we’ll learn the best ways to print and apply your hand printed images. Most importantly, you’ll leave knowing exactly how to make your own prints, so you can continue to create and inspire. No previous printing experience needed!

Story puppets, story books, story maps ... oh my! In this workshop, children will learn to give life to the stories in their minds with projects and activities that nurture their natural inclination to tell their own imaginative stories.  Throughout the session, children will use different arts and crafts techniques and writing to create their own storyland complete with unique characters, plot, and setting. Much emphasis will be placed on celebrating each child's particular mode of artistic expression.

Creative Journaling Workshop for Ages 9-12
Group 1: Thursday afternoons 3:30-4:30
Group 2: Thursday afternoons 4:45-5:45
$120 (includes materials fee)
8 week session :: January 12 - March 8 (no class on 2/23)
at Second Chances in South Amherst

This workshop offers children practice in the art of journal keeping.  Children will learn to turn their bits of poetry, nature scribbles, beginnings of stories, and random thoughts into a creative journal. Poems, dreams, drawings, ideas scribbled in margins, lists, short stories, comics, journal entries, photographs, and more will be incorporated to create an inspiring, personal anthology. Each workshop will focus on a specific artistic technique (printing, collage, watercolor, etc.). Much emphasis will be placed on celebrating each child's particular mode of artistic expression.
